Aldrdige Model Boat Club

Aldridge Model Boat Club was established in January 2017, affiliated with Aldridge Sailing Club, and formed by members of the nowunct Sandwell Model Boat Club. Sandwell Model Boat Club originated in January 1992 and sailed at Dartmouth Park for 24 years, following the closure of Baggeridge Model Boat Club.

The club's roots back to the 1970s it operated at Millfields Pool in Wednesbury, which was later closed due to pollution. After relocating to Baggeridge Country Park, the club faced challenges with weed over in 1991 and eventually moved to Dartmouth Park Boating Pool. In 2016, due to changes by Sandwell Council, the club relocated to Swan Pool, which proved unsuitable for their scale boats. Consequently, in December 2016, the Sandwell Model Boat Club was disbanded and reformed as Aldridge Model Boat Club. Our club actively participates in static and pool displays at various events across the West Midlands.
